The Pandemic has had an impact on us all. So, I would like to start by saying we hope you all Stay Safe and Well.
At Forums International we were holding nearly 40 events per year and spending 60/70% of our time living in hotels. Not as glamorous as you would think. Somebody once said instead of buying your new house why not buy a caravan? Everything has now changed. We were using Zoom before the lockdown so that our international members could join in. That has now become the normal for us.
It has also helped us expand the reach of the forums. As an example, we run our International Telecoms Forum and the start time is now 2pm UK so those in the US and Canada can join at a reasonable hour. And we are seeing a lot more internationally based companies attending.
This month we have launched two new International Forums
Launch of the International Media & Publishing Credit Forum
From a conversation between Jon Swan (Hachette), Tim Freeman (Cinram Novum) and Lisa Baker (Baker Ing International) Forums International supported the launch of the IMPF. With companies from Film, Music, Games, Publishing etc.
Nigel Field ex 20th Century Fox was our Keynote Speaker. We had an excellent attendance and from the feedback we will be running quarterly meetings starting in February 2021.
Launch of the International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Credit Forum
Currently we run the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Credit Forum in the UK.
Alexion and Gilead two of the major Pharma Manufacturers asked us to consider starting an international forum for Manufacturers. So, with the help of our Partners: Baker Ing, Cedar Rose, Experian and Netsend.
Really good attendance and feedback. “I just wanted to thank you and your team for the excellent presentations last week which were first class. It was both informative and enjoyable, which is important. I look forward to hearing from you and participating further”
The Forum will meet Virtually on a quarterly basis starting in March. 2021.
We all hope that we will get back to Face2Face meetings in the not too distant future. However, in the interim we are delivering our Virtual meetings as interactive as possible so that our attendees are not just listening but are sharing their views and experiences.
